Congratulations on your Laser Gum Lift! To ensure the success of your treatment, here are a few essential steps you need to follow.
So you’ve had a gum lift, now what?
In the first 24 hours after the Laser gum lift procedure, you may notice some bleeding, redness, and inflammation. This is common and expected to happen.
IMPORTANT:
For the first 48 hours we advise to brush your teeth as normal, however, please clean gently around the gum line as irritation will cause more bleeding and could affect your results. If you are experiencing any pain, we recommend taking over the counter pain relief medication of your choice, usually paracetamol is sufficient.
As with natural teeth, veneers can break / chip / crack under extreme pressure. Try to avoid foods that “snap” such as lollies, nuts etc. Habits such as fingernail biting can also cause breakages. The nightguard provided at your next visit will protect your teeth
overnight.
PLEASE AVOID:
We recommend avoiding foods that you need to bite into such as apples or carrots for the first 48 hours. Also avoid hot / spicy foods or anything too acidic, this will be uncomfortable. Please avoid touching the area or picking at it with your fingernails.
Please don’t hesitate to call our rooms on 08 8271 9771 if you have any further questions.
We look forward to seeing you at your review appointment in a fortnight!
