Are You Looking For A Leading Cosmetic Dentist Adelaide?

At Adelaide Cosmetic Dentistry, Dr Roshanak Amrein and her team strive to provide you with the very best dental care available using the latest technology to make your visit as enjoyable as possible. Though we are focused on all aspects of cosmetic dentistry, we also offer comprehensive general and family dental care, including your very important six-monthly cleans and check-ups.

But we still get asked all the time are you General Dentist Adelaide or Cosmetic Dentist Adelaide?

The reality is, we’re both. As her patients affectionately know her, Dr Rosh graduated from the University of Adelaide with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 2001. Dr Rosh has always had a passion for extending her knowledge in all aspects of Cosmetic Dentistry, and she jumped at the chance to take over Adelaide Cosmetic Dentistry at the beginning of 2007 to pursue this passion after working in Cambridge in the UK and several clinics in Adelaide.

In April 2020, Dr Rosh got the chance to pursue her ultimate dream — opening a boutique cosmetic dental that incorporates all she has learnt over more than 20 years of dentistry in the heart of the Hyde Park Shopping precinct on King William Road in Unley. The new practice opened in the middle of the COVID-19 Pandemic) and haven’t looked back since! But funnily enough, some of our patients still ask, are you a…

  • Unley Dentist?
  • Hyde Park Dentist?
  • King William Road Dentist?

The truth is, we are all of these. The new Adelaide Cosmetic Dentistry practice is in the suburb of Unley; it is on King William Road and nestled within the Hyde Park shopping precinct.

Our new rooms were purposely designed to blend into the chic Hyde Park shopping precinct naturally while at the same time offering a warm, inviting, and friendly space that incorporates the latest in dental technology, treatment workflows and patient care, with ample on- and off-street, car parking that is just 5-10 minutes from the Adelaide CBD.

Frequently Asked Questions

No tooth whitening treatment is permanent. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee how long the whitening will last as it depends on diet and lifestyle. If you are a smoker, coffee drinker or a red wine drinker, the results will not last as long as if you weren’t. The basic rule to apply when doing any tooth whitening is: Anything that will stain a white shirt will stain your teeth.

The overall procedure takes approximately 1-hour to complete. It is a one-off treatment that doesn’t require any at home maintenance and can be done in a lunch break.

We estimate the result to be at least two shades whiter than what you have. As everyone is different, so are their teeth. We can never predict exactly how your teeth are going to respond. Some people go beyond the two shades whiter than predicted.

The majority of health funds do not pay back with any teeth whitening. This is because it is considered an optional procedure. At a consultation appointment, we can provide you with the item numbers that you require checking with your private health insurance.

Teeth do not go paper white. The result is determined by your starting shade and by each person’s teeth and how they respond to the whitening.

In the first 48 hours after treatment you should avoid eating or drinking anything that can permanently stain a white shirt; this includes coloured fizzy drinks, black tea or coffee, and red wine.

Sensitivity can occur in a small number of cases, especially if the teeth have been sensitive prior to treatment. It is due to the action of peroxide and in almost all cases it goes away within 24 hours.

No, bleaching only works on natural tooth substance. Any fillings or crowns may appear too dark after the rest of the tooth has been bleached and may require replacement.

Smartbleach laser tooth whitening has been researched extensively and like most bleaching methods, causes no damage to the teeth. It simply breaks the large staining molecules into smaller ones and, as a result, the surface of the tooth reflects the light more effectively, making the tooth appear lighter in colour. Unlike other in-office bleaching methods, the laser beam is in contact with each tooth for only 30 seconds at a time. This way, the risk of heat damage to the pulp is minimised. The bleaching substance is not ingested.
