1. Do Your Research on Your Cosmetic Dentist First
Like all significant purchases, dental veneers, it is essential that you take the time to know what you are getting. You do not want to choose someone who is right out of dental school or a general dentist that ‘occasionally’ places veneers if you are seeking to achieve an optimal cosmetic result. Choosing a cosmetic dentist is like selecting a make-up artist or a hairdresser; just because they know how to carry out the procedure does not mean they are good at it.
At Adelaide Cosmetic Dentistry, Dr Rosh Amrein has thousands of satisfied clients who all sport winning smiles thanks to natural-looking porcelain veneers. So, when you book a consultation, ask to see her before and after photos or check out the independent Google 5-Star Reviews from former patients—the proof is in the pudding, as the saying goes.
2. A Good Cosmetic Dentist Will Book You in For a Smile Consultation Before Work Begins
You will not simply turn up to our beautiful new purpose-built boutique dental clinic, sit in the chair and emerge with a new set of pearly veneers, nor will you need to wait too long. All veneers are individually customised for each patient. Dr Amrein considers the state of your oral health, the look you want to achieve, the tone of your skin, the gum line, the shape of your smile, preferences and even your personality—all these things are considered before designing a smile individualised for you.
3. You May Not Need a Whole Mouth of Veneers
Once Dr Amrein has all the scans, digital imaging, moulds, and X-rays required, the next part of the process is to decide how many veneers are needed. For example, you may only need the four teeth at the front covered or maybe just one or two discoloured teeth. Please leave it to our dental team to make the recommendations based on their many years of clinic experience. Knowing veneers can be expensive, you may already be prepared to pay anything for the perfect smile; however, it may cheaper than you imagine. Equally, you may benefit from a combination of cosmetic treatments – such as a Laser Gum Lift, Invisalign Clear Aligners, in conjunction with veneers.
4. The Full Cost of Veneers Does not Have to Be Paid Straight Away
At Adelaide Cosmetic Dentistry, we take an initial deposit for your treatment plan but the rest, how much you pay and how long you must pay it off, is up to you. Patients can apply to MediPay to access flexible finance payment options. No credit checks, no complicated paperwork, and you choose the amount of time to finish paying your bill — 6 or 12 months.
5. Veneers Are Permanent, But They Will Need Replacing Eventually
The better you look after your veneers with regular dental check-ups, brushing and flossing, the longer they will last. You can expect to get a minimum of 10-15 years, maybe even 30 years, if you religiously look after your oral health, but they are not designed to last forever like most cosmetic procedures. Our ultra-thin porcelain veneers are placed over your natural teeth. Unlike traditional veneers, our in-house, digitally designed and manufactured veneers require little or no tooth structure or existing enamel removal.
6. Not Everyone Is a Good Candidate for Veneers
Porcelain veneers are suitable for most dental patients. However, a few exceptions may apply depending on each case. For example, veneers cannot be placed over unhealthy enamel or teeth will multiple issues, including severe decay, cracked teeth or gum disease. In addition, if your teeth are severely misaligned, you clench or grind your teeth, then Dr Amrein may suggest other forms of cosmetic dentistry to correct your smile.
